Kingfisher Bay Resort

Kingfisher Bay Resort is a fully-integrated ecotourism hotel designed to give guests an enjoyable nature-based experience on World Heritage-listed Fraser Island, while creating minimal impact on the environment.

Fraser Island is full of contrasts and contradictions – from the rainforests that grow in sand to silent fresh water creeks that flow under enormous sand blows – and all equally spectacular whatever the season.

The cooler months are ideal for exploring the walking tracks while in summer the beaches drawn keen anglers and on the wallum heaths the wildflowers are in bloom attracting the honeyeaters.

Kingfisher Bay Resort on Fraser’s western side is an eco-resort designed to blend with the natural surrounds providing a wilderness experience with all the creature comforts. Generous hotel rooms are set on stilts (to allow island wildlife to go about their daily business without interruption) and are offset with private balconies which beautifully frame the natural surrounds.

These comfortable rooms are air-conditioned with a private ensuite and accommodate up to three people. Interconnecting rooms are also available. Join Resort Rangers for guided activities, relax poolside, let loose on a Segway, stroll along the beach, or tempt your tastebuds with a bush tucker meal or cocktail in our bars. And don’t forget to take in a mango-coloured sunset over the Great Sandy Strait – it’s an absolute must.
